Qubad Talabani & Daniel Rubinstein meet in Erbil.

On Wednesday, 29 January 2025, Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, met with Daniel Rubinstein, Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy in Iraq, to discuss various matters of mutual interest.

During the meeting, they addressed the latest developments in forming the new cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government. The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the ongoing discussions among political parties, particularly between the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and the Kurdistan Democratic Party. He emphasised their commitment to establishing an effective, unified, and strong government, based on genuine partnership, to fulfil the aspirations of the Region’s citizens.

Regarding the latest political and security developments in Iraq and the wider region, both sides stressed the importance of enhancing coordination between Kurdistan’s security forces and the coalition forces to tackle the threat of terrorism.
