Kurdistan’s Vice President Meets Turkish CG.

On Monday, 20th January 2025, Sheikh Jaafar Sheikh Mustafa, Vice President of the Kurdistan Region, welcomed Erman Topçu, the Turkish Consul General in the Kurdistan Region.

During the meeting, both parties emphasised the importance of strengthening and maintaining the relationship between Türkiye and the Kurdistan Region, founded on shared interests.

Both sides also agreed on the need to preserve security and stability and ensure that Iraq remains uninvolved in the conflicts and tensions affecting the surrounding region.

The discussion also covered recent political and security developments in the surrounding region, particularly the situation in Syria and the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.
