Iraq and Britain Discuss Refugee Issue and Strengthening Bilateral Ties

Iraqi PM meets British Foreign Secretary in London.

Federal Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani met with British Foreign Secretary David Lammy in London.

MP Dilan Ghafour, Head of the Foreign Relations Committee in the Iraqi parliament, told PUKMEDIA: "We participated in the Prime Minister's meeting with the British Foreign Secretary, where the discussion focused on cooperation between Iraq and the UK at all levels and ways to strengthen it, based on the agreements made in various fields."

She added: "The meeting also addressed enhancing relations between Iraq and the UK, particularly regarding the refugee issue, the presence of Global Coalition forces in Iraq, countering terrorism, and the situation in Syria. The discussion emphasised the importance of safeguarding security and stability in the surrounding region."

Federal Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani is currently on an official visit to the UK, where he has met with several officials, business leaders, and representatives of British companies.
