PUK President, Iraqi President Discuss Regional Stability & Cooperation

PUK President & Iraqi President meet in Baghdad.
Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, and Dr. Abdullatif Jamal Rashid, President of the Republic of Iraq, met in the capital city of Baghdad.
During the discussion, the situation in Iraq and the salaries of employees in the Kurdistan Region were addressed, with both parties emphasising the need to avoid mixing the financial rights and entitlements of the Kurdistan Region with conflicts and disputes.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of stability in Syria and the broader region. President Bafel stated: “The rights of all parties in Syria must be safeguarded, particularly the Kurdish people, and it is crucial to coordinate and cooperate with allies to maintain regional stability.”
At the conclusion of the meeting, President Bafel Jalal Talabani also said: “In light of recent developments in the surrounding region, leaders and political parties in Baghdad must engage in continuous coordination and constructive dialogue to ensure stability, while upholding the principles of the Iraqi Constitution.”
