Asayish: 636 Terrorism Suspects Arrested in 2024

The Kurdistan Region Security Agency (Asayish) disclosed its operational data for 2024, indicating the apprehension of 636 terrorism suspects this year.
Colonel Salam Abdulkhaliq, spokesperson for the Asayish Agency, declared in a press conference that in 2024, 257 counter-terrorism operations and 74 raids were executed to dismantle terrorist bases in various regions, culminating in the arrest of 636 terrorism suspects under Articles 2 and 4 of the Counter-Terrorism Law.
He also stated that a total of 126 joint operations were conducted between the Kurdistan Region Security Agency and Iraqi security forces, resulting in the arrest of 1,190 individuals on charges of drug use and trafficking, alongside the seizure of 324 tonnes and 600 grammes of narcotics.
