An annual report by an organisation specialising in parliamentary affairs reveals that representatives of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) bloc are the most active in Sulaymaniyah province, securing first place in three out of the province’s five electoral constituencies.

The tenth annual report, published by the organisation Kurdistan for All in collaboration with the American National Endowment for Democracy (NED), focuses on assessing and documenting the activities of Sulaymaniyah province’s MPs in the Iraqi parliament. The report highlights that members of the PUK bloc—Dr. Narmin Marouf (first constituency), Dr. Bryar Rashid (second constituency), and Karwan Yarwais (fifth constituency)—achieved first place for their parliamentary activities.

The activities included interventions, drafting official correspondence, conducting visits and follow-ups, holding meetings, hosting permanent committee sessions in the capital, and engaging in follow-ups both within the Kurdistan Region and internationally.

The report notes that Dr. Narmin Marouf conducted 180 parliamentary activities last year, Dr. Bryar Rashid carried out 280, and Karwan Yarwais completed 120. Meanwhile, other PUK members—Chro Hama Sharif (third constituency), Gharib Ahmed (fourth constituency), and Srwa Mohammed (fifth constituency)—secured second place within Sulaymaniyah province. At the provincial level, six of the top ten representatives belong to the PUK bloc. Soran Omar of the Kurdistan Justice Group bloc ranks first overall, followed by Dr. Bryar Rashid and Dr. Narmin Marouf from the PUK bloc in second and third places, respectively.
