PUK President: Our Baghdad Meetings Extend Our Commitment to Resolving Issues

PUK President & Iraqi President meet in Sulaymaniyah.
Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), welcomed Dr. Abdullatif Jamal Rashid, President of the Republic of Iraq, at Dabashan, Sulaymaniyah.
During their meeting, they discussed the overall situation in both Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, emphasising the need for succeeding in the national efforts and coordination between political parties to resolve issues and establish stability in the surrounding region.
Regarding salaries and financial entitlements for the people of Kurdistan, President Bafel stated: "Our recent meetings in Baghdad have been a continuation of our ongoing efforts to resolve this issue and achieve a positive outcome. We greatly value the cooperation and support of the Iraqi Prime Minister and the esteemed members of the judiciary, as well as their commitment to safeguarding the rights of the people of Kurdistan in accordance with the Constitution and the law, without allowing them to be influenced by partisan and political disputes. We also appreciate the efforts of Your Excellency, as President of the Republic of Iraq, for your unwavering support and dedication in helping us resolve this issue and protect the rights of the citizens of Kurdistan."
In response, President Rashid reiterated his full support for all constructive national efforts aimed at establishing stability, providing services, and distancing the country from the tensions currently affecting the surrounding region.
