Iraqi Parliament Continues 20th Session on Budget Amendment & Oil Export Provisions

The Iraqi Parliament is continuing its 20th regular session today, Thursday, to discuss a number of draft laws, the most important of which is the amendment to the budget law.
Dr. Bryar Rashid, a representative of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) bloc, informed PUKMEDIA that the session is taking place today.
He further noted that the session will include a vote on the draft law concerning the National Intelligence Service, as well as a vote on the proposed First Amendment to the Passports Law No. 32 of 2015.
Dr. Rashid also explained that the session will feature the second reading of the draft law proposing the First Amendment to the Federal General Budget Law of the Republic of Iraq for the fiscal years 2023, 2024, and 2025. Additionally, the report and second reading of the draft law for the Fifth Amendment to the Civil Aviation Law No. 148 of 1974 will be discussed.
Another representative of the PUK bloc, Badria Hussein, stated in a special interview with PUKMEDIA that the Iraqi Parliament will review the second reading of the amendment to Article 12 of the Budget Law, which concerns the export of oil from the Kurdistan Region.
She added that the federal government has approved the amendment to Article 12, following discussions with the Kurdistan Regional Government. The Iraqi Parliament will now discuss this provision and proceed with a vote on it.
