Meeting with Political Parties: PUK Delegation Prioritises Collaboration & Institutional Development

Qubad Talabani & Dana Ahmed Majid meet in Sulaymaniyah.
Following its meetings with the Kurdistan Islamic Union and the Kurdistan Justice Group, the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) delegation met on the evening of Thursday, 28th November 2024, in Sulaymaniyah, with Dana Ahmed Majid, the General Coordinator of the Change (Gorran) Movement.
During the meeting, both parties discussed bilateral relations, the political situation in the Kurdistan Region, and preparations for the period following the Kurdistan Parliament elections.
Both sides agreed on the importance of exercising caution in handling the current situation and the stage’s requirements, with the aim of delivering the best possible services to citizens. They also expressed their willingness to collaborate in fostering a secure political environment and taking concrete steps to improve the living conditions of the people.
Building Regional Institutions on the Principle of Delivering Services to Citizens
As part of the PUK delegation's ongoing engagement with political parties and forces, the delegation, headed by Qubad Talabani, also held a meeting earlier today, Thursday, in Sulaymaniyah, with Salahaddin Bahaaddin, Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union.
During this meeting, which was attended by several members of the Political Bureau and Leadership Council of both parties, discussions centred on bilateral relations, the political climate in the Kurdistan Region, and preparations for the post-election phase. On this matter, both sides agreed on the necessity of building regional institutions based on the principle of providing the best services to citizens.
They emphasised the importance of taking effective steps to ensure the livelihoods of citizens, noting that delivering services to them should be a priority in the coming phase.
Qubad Talabani Leads PUK Delegation to Address Key Political Issues With KJG
On the afternoon of Wednesday, November 27, 2024, Qubad Talabani, supervisor of the Secretariat Bureau of President Mam Jalal, visited the Kurdistan Justice Group (KJG) in Erbil, leading a prominent delegation from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK). They were warmly received by Mr. Ali Bapir, the KJG Leader, along with several members of the Supreme Council and the party's Leadership.
The visit aimed to discuss the latest political developments, the future of the Kurdistan Region, the inaugural session of the Kurdistan Parliament, and the new government cabinet.
During the meeting, both parties agreed on the importance of prioritising the aspirations and welfare of citizens, stressing that the government should serve the people.
Mr. Ali Bapir shared his views on the recent elections of the Kurdistan Parliament, reiterating his stance on not participating in Parliament.
The PUK delegation acknowledged the significant role of the KJG in past stages and emphasised that the party could continue to play an influential role by being present and active in Parliament.
Another key issue raised was the matter of salaries, with a focus on addressing the injustices faced by employees and resolving the salary distribution problem, which is a fundamental right.
