Qubad Talabani Census Kirkuk

Qubad Talabani, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, emphasised that taking part in the national population census is a patriotic duty.

In a post on his Facebook page, Qubad Talabani stated: "Kirkuk and the disputed areas are an essential part of our homeland, and as part of this census, it is a national duty for all citizens from these areas to return to their hometowns and take part in the process."

He further remarked, "I hold a civil status identity card from Kirkuk Governorate, and as a citizen, I will fulfil this duty proudly by being present in Kirkuk."

The 2024 general population and housing census in Iraq will be the first of its kind since 1997. It will take place on November 20 and 21, with more than 120,000 enumerators deployed across the country. Over 70 questions will be asked of each household.

A nationwide curfew will be enforced from midnight tonight until midnight Thursday. Citizens must remain at home during the curfew to allow census teams to visit and accurately record their details.
