Iraqi President in Baku for COP29 UNFCCC Climate Conference

Iraqi President Arrives in Baku.

The President of the Republic of Iraq, Dr. Abdullatif Jamal Rashid, arrived today, Monday, November 11, 2024, in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.

The President's visit is in response to an official invitation from Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to attend the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29), which is being held in Baku.

President Rashid is accompanied by a government delegation, including Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein, Minister of Health Dr. Salih Al-Hasnawi, and Head of the Iraqi parliament's Agriculture, Water and Marshes Committee, Falih Al-Khazali, as well as several other officials and advisors.
