On Wednesday, Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, met with Stephen Hitchen, the British Ambassador to Iraq, to discuss bilateral relations and the aftermath of the Kurdistan Parliament elections.

During the meeting, DPM Talabani praised "the positive role of the United Kingdom in supporting the Kurdistan Region and the electoral process," and emphasised the importance of further developing bilateral ties across various sectors.

The discussion also focused on the post-election situation in the Kurdistan Region, with both sides exchanging views on the steps required to form the new government.

DPM Talabani reiterated: "We have a specific programme to address issues and better serve our citizens."

 

Qubad Talabani: Kurdistan Region is Entering a New Phase

On Wednesday, Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, hosted Nasrollah Rashnoudi, the Iranian Consul General in the Kurdistan Region, on the occasion of the conclusion of his tenure.

During the meeting, Qubad Talabani praised the Iranian Consul General for his efforts to strengthen bilateral relations across various sectors, which have seen significant development in recent years.

In this context, CG Rashnoudi reflected on the frameworks of relations between the Kurdistan Region and the Islamic Republic of Iran, highlighting and praising the role of President Mam Jalal in fostering and shaping the strong ties between the two nations.

The discussion also touched on the outcomes of the recent elections for the sixth term of the Kurdistan Parliament, as well as the steps toward forming the new government. DPM Talabani said: "The Kurdistan Region is entering a new phase; we have a programme for reform and improving service to our citizens."
