PUK Politburo's meeting

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), chaired a meeting of the Political Bureau of the PUK in Sulaymaniyah.

The meeting took place today, October 22, 2024, at the new headquarters of the Political Bureau in Sulaymaniyah, where they discussed the outcomes of the recent parliamentary elections held on 20th October 2024 across all four provinces of the Kurdistan Region.

The Political Bureau congratulated the people of Kurdistan on the successful election process and praised the PUK comrades, candidates, and dedicated supporters of the Martyrs Party for achieving a significant victory by doubling the PUK's votes. With the enthusiastic campaign led by President Bafel, they effectively conveyed the message of correcting governance and establishing a balance of power, and reaffirming the message of legitimacy of the PUK’s discourse, where this message will serve as the roadmap for the PUK's future policies, guiding a democratic and fair renewal of the political process and governance across all areas, ultimately benefiting the lives and welfare of the people.

Following a thorough assessment of the electoral process and the formulation of initiatives and sound policies for the objectives, the Political Bureau meeting simultaneously directed the PUK's comrades and institutions to prepare for the upcoming elections in Iraq, to build on the party's successes in the democratic processes in Kirkuk and the Kurdistan Region, striving for even greater victories across Iraq.
