Iraqi PM Announces Death of ISIS Leaders in Successful Operation

An Operation of Iraqi Forces in Hamrin Mountains

Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, announced the killing of an ISIS leader who refers to himself as the "Wali of Iraq" in a successful operation.

Al-Sudani stated in a post on X: "I extend my congratulations to our esteemed citizens on the elimination of the so-called 'Wali of Iraq' from the terrorist organisation ISIS, along with eight of the group's senior leaders, during a significant heroic operation carried out by the Counter Terrorism Service and National Security Service, under the oversight of joint operations, which targeted the terrorist hideouts in the Hamrin Mountains., Kirkuk."

The Prime Minister also said: "We stand behind the heroes of all our security forces and affirm that there is no place for terrorists in Iraq. and we will pursue them to their hideouts and eradicate them until the land of Iraq is free from their presence and their heinous acts."
