PUK Achieves Great Victory in Kurdistan Election

The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) List 129 secured a major victory in the general election for the Kurdistan parliament.

The PUK was in the lead in the majority of polling stations compared to other lists, particularly in the provinces of Sulaymaniyah and Halabja, as well as the administrations of Garmian and Raparin, with its candidates achieving significant advancement over other candidates and securing the majority of votes.

The preliminary results indicate a 35% increase in votes for the PUK compared to the prior elections.
The sixth term of the Kurdistan parliamentary elections ended on Sunday evening, October 20, 2024, in all four constituencies of the Kurdistan Region: Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, Duhok, and Halabja.
