PUK 129 Spokesperson: PUK is Winner in the Special Voting

The spokesperson for List 129 of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) declared that the PUK is the winner in the special voting of security services in the Kurdistan parliamentary elections.
PUK 129 Spokesperson Karwan Gazneyi said during a press conference: "All rumours spread by other parties regarding the PUK are false and intended to mislead the public on the unofficial results of the special voting; we will disclose the facts to the public and the citizens of the Kurdistan Region."
The PUK 129 Spokesperson also said that the PUK won 38,342 votes in the 2021 special voting, while it won 70,103 votes in the 2024 special voting.
He added: "We declare the PUK's triumph in the special voting; compared to the 2021 special voting, the PUK's votes have surged by approximately 32,000, establishing it as the first list in terms of votes received in the special voting compared to a previous election."
The special voting for the Kurdistan parliamentary elections took place on Friday, October 18, 2024, where security forces participated and cast their votes. The general elections for the sixth term of the Kurdistan Parliament are set to take place on October 20, 2024.
Patriotic Union of Kurdistan
The PUK 129 Spokesperson presented a comparison between the PUK's votes in the special voting of the 2021 special voting and the 2024 special voting as follows:
In Sulaymaniyah province, the PUK won 24,633 votes in 2021, while it won 49,412 votes in the 2024 special voting.
In Erbil province, the PUK won 10,264 votes in 2021, while it won 18,331 votes in the 2024 special voting.
In Duhok province, the PUK won 2,215 votes in 2021, while it won 2,558 votes in the 2024 special voting.
In Halabja province, the PUK won 1,230 votes in 2021, while it won 1,807 votes in the 2024 special voting.
Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP)
The PUK 129 Spokesperson presented a comparison between the KDP's votes in the special voting of the 2021 special voting and the 2024 special voting as follows:
In Sulaymaniyah province, the KDP won 4,143 votes in 2021, while it won 3,607 votes in the 2024 special voting.
In Erbil province, the KDP won 34,608 votes in 2021, while it won 37,852 votes in the 2024 special voting.
In Duhok province, the KDP won 30,220 votes in 2021, while it won 32,620 votes in the 2024 special voting.
In Halabja province, the KDP won 436 votes in 2024, while it won 434 votes in the 2024 special voting.
PUK is the winner
The PUK 120 Spokesperson further stated: "The KDP has 118,000 special voters, but the PUK has 82,000 special voters, so the PUK is the winner of the special voting."
