Shalaw Kosrat Rasul: PUK Achieved Its First Victory in Special Voting

Shalaw Kosrat Rasul announced that the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan's (PUK) victory in the special voting is the party's first triumph and that there is more to come.

Concerning the special voting for the Kurdistan parliamentary elections held on Friday, October 18, 2024, Shalaw Kosrat Rasul stated in a message: "The special voting represented the initial triumph for the PUK. We extend our gratitude to the Peshmerga forces, police, other internal forces, and special voters. Your voting has demonstrated that a wonderful democratic process is underway in our region. You have also proven that you are the backbone of the PUK."

He also urged the people: "Approach the polls with the same enthusiasm as the special voters to rest your conscience, so that we can reclaim power together. Let us transform election day into a platform for endorsing and advancing a better future for our region, a stage for absolute triumph."

The special voting for the Kurdistan parliamentary elections took place on Friday, October 18, 2024, where security forces participated and cast their votes. The general elections for the sixth term of the Kurdistan Parliament are set to take place on October 20, 2024.
