Shanaz Ibrahim Ahmed stated that elections are the sole means of achieving political change and serve as a mechanism for power transfer, upholding the rule of law, and putting an end to monopoly and tyranny in governance.
Shanaz Ibrahim Ahmed, a member of the Political Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), stated in a message regarding the upcoming elections for the sixth term of the Kurdistan Parliament: "In just a few days, the citizens of the Kurdistan Region will go to the elections in a crucial process to elect the sixth term of the Kurdistan Parliament. These elections hold significant importance for our political future and the potential for change in government administration. The people of Kurdistan have been waiting for these elections for years, yearning for a shift in the political landscape, the end of one-party rule, discrimination, and injustice in revenue distribution and service provision."
Shanaz Ibrahim Ahmed explained, "One of the key pillars of a democratic system is to turn to the people's decision. Elections represent civic participation aimed at achieving political pluralism and genuine partnership in governance." She added, "Unfortunately, due to political fanaticism and party exclusivity, the current situation in our region falls short of our people's ambitions and aspirations and needs political reform."
She emphasised that "participation in this process is the only means of achieving political change, facilitating power transfer, establishing the rule of law, and ensuring the well-being of the region's citizens."
Shanaz Ibrahim Ahmed concluded her message by stating: "To safeguard the national, political, and civil achievements of our people, to oppose political monopoly, and to reclaim the rights that have been taken from citizens, let us green the ballot boxes this autumn, ensuring a better life for the people of our region. Victory to List 129, the list of Martyrs' Party."
