Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) published a statement regarding the seventh anniversary of the passing of President Jalal Talabani, saying: “The PUK stands resolute in its commitment to President Mam Jalal’s vision of a democratic, prosperous Kurdistan, where every voice matters and every citizen has the opportunity to thrive.”
The following is the full text of the statement:
Today, we were in Kirkuk, the city that Mam Jalal referred to as the "Quds of Kurdistan," and worked tirelessly to establish the city as a symbol of coexistence.
Seven years ago, we lost a leader, father, and patriot—President Mam Jalal. His sacrifice and vision for a united, democratic, and prosperous Kurdistan continues to inspire us all. As we approach this critical election, the PUK remains committed to his legacy of service, resilience, and duty to our people. The PUK stands stronger, more determined to fulfill his vision for a Kurdistan where every voice is heard and every citizen thrives. Together, we will build the future he dreamed of.
Bafel Jalal Talabani
President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan
