PUK President: We Will Overthrow This Corrupt Authority

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), declared at the first campaign rally of the PUK List 129 that the PUK will overthrow the corrupt and filthy authority.

The first campaign rally of the PUK List 129 took place in Sulaymaniyah on Sunday, September 29, 2024. The candidates of PUK List 129 were introduced at the start of the rally, followed by a speech from PUK President Bafel Jalal Talabani.

President Bafel stated that the PUK is far more powerful and patriotic than its rivals and that its rivals are currently weak in both the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.

The PUK is one force and one voice

"The PUK belongs to all loyal people, and we will earn the trust of the Kurdish people in the future," he stated.

"The PUK is one solid force with one voice," he added. "Following the period where Mam Jalal fell ill, the PUK has never been as strong as it is now."

"The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) must first restructure internally before asking other parties to reorganise themselves," he said.

The PUK has a strong position in Baghdad

"Vote for the party that provides you with salaries; vote for the PUK, which has a strong position in Baghdad; we are committed to fulfilling the promises we make to the Kurdish people," he said.

Only the PUK can correct the wrongs done

"Only the PUK can correct the wrongs done," President Bafel stated, pointing out: "We will eradicate that which is ugly and contrary to Kurdish culture, just as we did in Sulaymaniyah."

"It is disgraceful that the occupying forces take over our country. Are they not ashamed when they hand over the region to a country that denies the existence of Kurds?" President Bafel stated.

Erbil is ours

"If there is good governance, Kurdistan is a paradise and Erbil is ours," said President Bafel.

"We demolished the electoral law tailored exclusively for a single party," he stated.

"If you want our youth not to migrate, to stop poverty, to stop family-owned banks, to stop selling our land, then vote for the PUK," he said.

The sixth term of the Kurdistan parliamentary elections is scheduled to take place on October 20, 2024. The PUK is contesting with PUK List 129 and 172 candidates under the slogans "Correcting the Course of Governance" and "We Will End It."
