The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) has unveiled its programme for the forthcoming Kurdistan parliamentary elections, encompassing 16 extensive service sectors, with the principal motto "to End Authoritarian Rule."

Within the Programme, the PUK pledged "to carry out its historical responsibility for this election by implementing a thorough programme aimed at safeguarding the structure of the Kurdistan Region, improving the livelihood of the people of Kurdistan, and correcting the course of governance."

List 129 of the PUK also added: "The Kurdistan Region is rich in natural resources and a highly attractive destination for tourists, with fertile soil suitable for agriculture. These qualities serve as the basis for constructing a thriving and advanced country that ensures the prosperity of every member of society. However, as a result of deviating from the principles of shared governance and following to an unrealistic policy and mismanagement, the Kurdistan Region has experienced economic regression in recent years and is confronted with various serious threats. The lives of its citizens are deteriorating day by day and the status of the Kurdistan Region is becoming weaker."

The PUK, which is participating in the sixth term of the Kurdistan parliamentary election as List 129, has 172 candidates in all four constituencies (Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, Duhok and Halabja). All of the PUK's candidates have different expertise to serve in all 16 sectors mentioned in its programme, which are:

First: Administrative and Economic Sector
Second: Political and Diplomatic Sector
Third: Disputed Regions and Article 140
Fourth: Security (Asayish) and Peshmerga Sector
Fifth: Youth, Culture and Arts Sector
Sixth: Education and Higher Education Sector
Seventh: Health Sector
Eighth: Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock Sector
Ninth: Tourism Sector
Tenth: Industry and Energy Sector
Eleventh: Sports Sector
Twelfth: Sector of Empowering Women
Thirteenth: Environment Preservation Sector
Fourteenth: Labourors, Merchants and Practitioners
Fifteenth: Immigration Sector
Sixteenth: Relatives of martyrs and Anfal victims, disabled soldiers, political prisoners, and veterans' organisations

PUK List 129 not only pointed out the shortcomings of all 16 sectors, but also presented strategies and programmes to solve them.
