The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) aims to put a stop to land sales, discrimination, corruption, the suppression of free expression, and the mockery of citizens' and workers' lives. Consequently, it will take part in the Kurdistan parliamentary elections under the slogan “We Will End It.”
The PUK will resolve the problems and transform them into services
Hana Shwan, candidate number 12 on the PUK list for the Kurdistan Parliament in the Sulaymaniyah constituency, stated to PUKMEDIA: “The PUK logo embodies Peace, Democracy, Human Rights, and Self-Determination. Therefore, we will put an end to any actions or opinions that contradict these principles, as they are fundamental to serving our citizens and building a better world.”
"The PUK is fully committed to democracy, human rights, and freedom of expression, viewing it as their duty to ensure a free and dignified life for the region's citizens. Therefore, we have decided to address the problems in the Kurdistan Region and turn them to services," she further said.
The PUK will put an end to discrimination
Parez Omar, candidate number 6 on the PUK list for the Kurdistan parliamentary elections in the Erbil constituency, told PUKMEDIA: “The PUK will put an end to land sales, corruption, and discrimination in the region, these actions that angered certain parties.”
She further said: "The discrimination in this cabinet is evident not only between cities but also within Erbil itself, where poor neighborhoods have been neglected. The PUK stands firmly against this discrimination."
The PUK will put an end to the suppression of free voices
Ali Mustafa, candidate number 1 on the PUK list for the Kurdistan parliamentary elections in the Duhok constituency, told PUKMEDIA: “The PUK aims to end human rights violations and the suppression of free voices, which have significantly affected Duhok province, where many people are imprisoned on baseless charges.”
He also said: "The PUK will put an end to the violation of salaried employees' rights, so it is crucial to vote for PUK candidates to ensure a better life and services for everyone.”
The elections for the sixth term of the Kurdistan Parliament are set for October 20, 2024. The PUK is participating as number 129, fielding 172 candidates across four constituencies.
