Iranian President Arrives in Erbil and Meets with KRG and Kurdistan Presidency

A meeting between the senior Iranian delegation and Kurdistan Region's top officials

Today, Thursday, the Iranian President arrived in Erbil and was greeted by the President of the Kurdistan Region during a welcoming ceremony.

The President of the Kurdistan Region Nechirvan Barzani welcomed Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian upon his arrival in Erbil. Following Erbil, he is expected to travel to Sulaymaniyah and have a meeting with the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan President Bafel Jalal Talabani. 

The senior delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran is meeting with the Kurdistan Regional Government and Kurdistan Region Presidency. The Iranian President emphasised to the media at the Baghdad palace yesterday his intention to enhance and fortify their ties with the Kurdistan Region in all aspects.

Iranian Consul General Mohammad Mahmoudian stated at a press conference in Sulaymaniyah that the Iranian President's trip to Iraq is his first international visit since assuming office. He noted that this visit is a key part of Iran's strategy to strengthen its relationships with other nations and neighboring countries.
