Iraqi President, PM Emphasise Enhancing Security & Serving Citizens

In a meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani, Iraqi President Abdullatif Jamal Rashid emphasised the need for fighting administrative and financial corruption, promoting investment, and serving the people.
In a statement sent to PUKMEDIA, the Iraqi Presidency said that the Iraqi President and Prime Minister discussed the country's overall state of affairs as well as political, security, and economic advancements during their meeting on September 8, 2024. They emphasised the necessity of working together across national ranks in order to uphold and enhance security and stability, enhance livelihoods, assist citizens, and realize their goals.
Furthermore, the importance of supporting the government's measures to carry out its ministerial program, particularly those addressing citizens' needs, improving economic conditions, combating administrative and financial corruption, and promoting investment and the private sector, was emphasised.
The President and Prime Minister highlighted the importance of addressing constitutional rights related to the election of the speaker of parliament in order to strengthen and enhance the parliament's role in supervision, legislation, and collaboration with the executive.
