The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) seeks to correct the course of governance in the Kurdistan Region for the future, with a PUK leader stating, "We are striving to correct the scales."
Mahmoud Sangawi, a prominent leader and veteran Peshmerga of the PUK, told the media: "All of the PUK's efforts and sacrifices have been to ensure a decent life for the people of the Kurdistan Region. However, the current situation does not meet the expectations of both the people and the PUK. Therefore, we are striving to correct the scales."
"Correcting the course of governance is a demand of the Kurdistan Region's people as well as the PUK. Therefore, we are working towards rectifying the course to serve the people," Sangawi stated.
The PUK's goal is to win the upcoming parliamentary elections on October 20, 2024, in order to realign the balance of power in the Kurdistan Region and reverse the wrong course of governance. PUK President Bafel Jalal Talabani assures the people that no political decision can be made without the PUK's approval, and no party can be elected prime minister without the PUK's permission.
