Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), met with the heads of the electoral constituencies in Erbil province at the headquarters of the PUK Political Bureau in Erbil.
President Bafel expressed his gratitude to the dedicated Erbilers for their unwavering and persistent contributions in the presence of Rafaat Abdullah, Darbaz Kosrat Rasul, Aso Mamand, Rewaz Fayaq, PUK Spokesperson Saadi Ahmed Pire, and other Political Bureau members. He emphasised that the PUK, as always, will continue to support the diligent residents of Erbil.
"This time, together we will announce from the capital Erbil the good news of forming a government that serves the people rather than manipulating their lives and future," he said.
Regarding the conduct of elections and transitions of power, President Bafel stated: "The PUK will not allow any form of bias or autocracy in governance. What we want and what must happen is to build a new form of governance that addresses the needs of the public and has the capacity to resolve issues related to salaries and people's livelihoods without compromising the lives of its people. Consequently, this election presents a significant and determining chance for all of us, united by a sense of national and responsible duty, to progress towards a more secure future and construct a more affluent future for future generations."
The PUK President concluded the meeting by addressing the distinguished Erbilers (people of Erbil) and saying, "We have made tremendous and impactful progress in the past with the help of God and our loyal people. I have no doubt that with a committed PUK and a true Kurdish spirit, we will achieve great victories in the future. Erbil is the sacred territory of Kurdistan and is the rightful property of people who have a deep reverence for Kurdistan, rather than those who exploit it for their own political and personal agendas."
