Mohammed Ibrahim Hafez, the head of Kirkuk Provincial Council, took office while the Kirkuk Governor addressed a news conference, stating that their goal is coexistence in Kirkuk and that they will serve the people as a team.

Kirkuk Governor Rebwar Taha stated: "We will provide assistance to the head of the Kirkuk Provincial Council in fulfilling his duties, and we will strive to collaborate as a team to serve the people of Kirkuk. Our objective is to promote peaceful coexistence and foster collective efforts in the city, just as it was in the past."

"We are committed to providing equal service to all communities. We are pleased to inform the people of Kirkuk that both the government and the council share the common objective of serving the people of Kirkuk. I urge the council to support our efforts in order to fulfil our mission and transform Kirkuk into one of Iraq's most aesthetically pleasing and advanced cities," stated Taha.

During the news conference, Mohammed Ibrahim Hafez, the head of the Kirkuk Provincial Council, announced that in the coming days, the remaining administrative positions in the city will be assigned to all communities based on their electoral merits.

Hafez also stated that this development marks the beginning of a new chapter in Kirkuk's history.

He added, "The council is actively working to improve coexistence and services for its residents. In this regard, we unequivocally support Kirkuk's governor and pledge our assistance in carrying out his responsibilities. We promise the people of Kirkuk that we are committed to meeting their expectations."
