Liu Jun, Consul General of the People's Republic of China, responds to a question posed by several Kurdistan Region political party leaders about the Communist Party of China's (CPC) approach to the important issue of self-management in China, a country with a population of 1.4 billion.
In an article sent to PUKMEDIA and published in the opinion section, the Consul General of the People's Republic of China reveals that the CPC had more than 98 million members and over 5 million grassroots party organisations by the end of 2022. "It is truly the world's largest political party in terms of size." He adds, "For such a large party, which has been in power for a long time in the world's most populous country, the difficulty of managing intraparty affairs should not be underestimated."
"With a strong mission of self-revolution, the high-ranking leaders should be role models for rest of the Party," Jun added, "The party focuses not only on promoting ideological guidance but also on behavioural norms and disciplinary accountability. Some high-profile corruption cases have been prosecuted and exposed. After a decade of efforts, we have put an end to some tenacious issues that have not been eradicated for many years and enabled people to feel more satisfied, happy, and secure."
