The Iraqi Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) has approved four types of ballot papers; each of the Kurdistan Region's four constituencies will have its own ballot paper.

IHEC Spokesperson Jumana al-Ghalai told PUKMEDIA that the Commissioners' Board approved four types of sample ballot papers for the general elections in Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, Duhok, and Halabja provinces, with each province having its own ballot.

She also stated that the commissioners had approved the preliminary sample of special ballot papers.

"There are 2,899,578 people eligible to vote in the upcoming sixth term of parliamentary elections. The election will be made easier by the establishment of 7,067 polling stations and 1,431 polling centres across the provinces," she added.

On June 26, 2024, the Kurdistan Region's Presidency issued a fifth decree, rescheduling the sixth term of Kurdistan parliamentary elections for October 20, 2024. The IHEC is currently making preparations to ensure that the elections take place as scheduled.
