The Iraqi Ministry of Migration and Displacement has reported that about 500 IDP families from the Sharia camp in Duhok have chosen to return to their homes in the Sinjar province. This week, a second group of internally displaced families in Duhok had returned to their homes.

The Ministry of Migration and Displacement has announced in a statement that an additional 463 displaced families from Sharia camp in Duhok have successfully returned to their homes in Sinjar district. This marks the second group of displaced families to return to their homes this week.

The statement said that the process of relocating the displaced families, along with their possessions, was conducted in collaboration with the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), as well as the security forces and municipal administrations of Duhok and Nineveh provinces.

Over the past few days, more than 800 families have been resettled in their residences in the Sinjar area of the Duhok province.

The Iraqi federal government has designated 4 million Iraqi dinars, distributed through checks, to facilitate the return of each displaced family. Additionally, the government is offering employment prospects to the unemployed, including positions within the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, along with various other chances. In addition, it provides them with emergency provisions and a selection of domestic devices.
