During the meeting, Mr. Jaafar emphasised the importance of conducting the Kurdistan Parliamentary elections in a manner that is both free and democratic.
The discussion also addressed the matter of countering terrorism and the risks and perils posed by ISIS, as well as the process of reform and reunification of the Peshmerga forces. There was a shared understanding on both of these problems.
The Vice President expressed that the Kurdistan Region is presently experiencing a state of legal vacuum, and conducting the elections will help resolve this situation.
