Sulaymaniyah Tourism: Tourist Revenue was About $32 Million

According to the General Directorate of Tourism of Sulaymaniyah, around 160,000 tourists visited Sulaymaniyah province during Eid al-Adha week. These visitors generated an estimated revenue of around $32 million for businesses and shopkeepers in Sulaymaniyah.
The General Directorate of Tourism of Sulaymaniyah said in a statement that a total of 159,583 tourists visited Sulaymaniyah city and its surrounding areas from the 14th to the 20th of this month. The majority of these tourists, over 90 percent, were from central and southern Iraq, while approximately 10 percent came from East Kurdistan in Iran and other countries.
As per the statement, the tourists visiting Sulaymaniyah province during Eid al-Adha generated an approximate revenue of $32 million for the province. The profits were subsequently split among businesses and shopkeepers.
Despite the large number of tourists, the security forces and related departments successfully implemented a plan to ensure a peaceful Eid for tourists, residents of Sulaymaniyah, and guests.
