Kurdistan President: We Highly Appreciate History of PUK’s Struggle

Kurdistan Regional's President Nechirvan Barzani congratulated the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) on the party's 49th establishment anniversary and said: "On this occasion, we pay tribute to the founder of the PUK, the late President Mam Jalal, and all those who fought for Kurdistan’s freedom in the ranks of the PUK. We highly appreciate the history of the PUK’s struggle."
President Barzani's message to the PUK said:

President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan
I warmly congratulate you, the Political Bureau, the Leadership, the Head of the Council of High Interests of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), and all the members and supporters of the PUK on the 49th anniversary of its establishment. I wish you continued success and progress.
On this occasion, we pay tribute to the founder of the PUK, the late President Mam Jalal, and all those who fought for Kurdistan’s freedom in the ranks of the PUK. We highly appreciate the history of the PUK’s struggle.
We emphasize the presence and important role of you and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan in the political process in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. We hope that this anniversary will encourage understanding, solidarity, and unity among the political parties to protect the federal status and constitutional rights of the Kurdistan Region.
