The Iraqi Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) has set the dates for the campaign period of the sixth round of the Kurdistan parliamentary elections. The campaign will commence on May 10, 2024, and conclude on June 6, 2024.
"As per IHEC's work schedule, the election campaign is set to commence on 10-5-2024 and conclude on 6-6-2024," stated Jumana Ghalay, spokeswoman for IHEC, in an interview with PUKMEDIA.
She added, "IHEC is currently preparing for the sixth session of the Kurdistan legislative elections. The campaign date has been set; however, the council of commissioners will make the final decision.
Ghalay also stated that there has been no decision to postpone or cancel the elections, and that IHEC is fully prepared to carry out the procedure on June 10, 2024. "The first trial test of the voting process was recently carried out using ballot papers," she stated.
