Iraqi President, Prime Minister Discuss Several Important Issues

On Tuesday, March 19, 2024, Iraqi President Abdullatif Jamal Rashid received Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani.

The participants engaged in a comprehensive dialogue regarding the political, security, economic, and social conditions in the country. They also examined Iraq's diplomatic ties with neighboring and global countries, as well as the relationship between Iraq's federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government.

The importance of coordinating efforts to support the government in implementing the work program and providing optimal services to citizens was emphasised. This includes the return of internally displaced persons (IDPs) to their homes and the permanent closure of camps within the government's specified timeframe. Additionally, the continued collaboration to uphold constitutional rights was emphasised.

The meeting also discussed the final joint statement between the Republic of Iraq and the Republic of Türkiye, highlighting its positive impact on enhancing bilateral relations and promoting security and stability in the region.
