Bafel Jalal Talabani, the President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), declared the restart and new strategy of the Kurdistan Students Association (KSA).
PUK President Bafel Jalal Talabani unveiled the Kurdistan Students Association's revised structure during a ceremony attended by Sarkawt Zaki, head of the PUK's Organisations Bureau. He stated: "We have previously promised the students and youth of Kurdistan that we will remain by their side and assist them. Within this framework, I will personally oversee the KSA's tasks.
"I have complete confidence in the innovative ideas and resourcefulness of our students and young people. Therefore, I am certain that by working together, we can accomplish significant achievements and construct a more promising future. This future can only be ensured by their passion and dedication," he stated.
President Bafel clarified that the Students' Association's activities were temporarily halted in response to the students' request and proposal, with the aim of reconstructing it in a contemporary and innovative manner.
He said: "Today, with a comprehensive grasp of the situation in the Kurdistan Region and the specific requirements of the youth, the association's operations will recommence and serve as a significant and impactful platform to advocate for students' rights and fulfil their ambitions."
President Bafel stated that the KSA will prioritise innovation and modernity, free from any biases or affiliations with political parties, and that the association will persist in its efforts to serve the education sector and higher education, while also implementing new ideas and practical measures to promote globalisation.
