IHEC Forms Committee to Oversee Parliamentary Elections in Kurdistan

The Iraqi Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) has formed a committee to oversee the Kurdish parliamentary elections, which are set to take place on June 10, 2024.
"The purpose of forming this committee is to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the elections, particularly in terms of technical, financial, administrative, and legal aspects," said IHEC Spokesperson.
IHEC spokesperson Jumana al-Ghalai informed PUKMEDIA that the organisation has formed a central committee to oversee the Kurdish parliamentary elections. Judge Abbas Farhan Hassan chairs the committee, which includes several directors general."
"The committee is responsible for carrying out the Council of Commissioners' decisions. Their responsibilities include developing a work plan for the election process, supervising the commission's administrative units in the Kurdistan Region, and monitoring the technical, financial, administrative, and legal aspects of the commission's operations," she stated.
