Kirkuk Court Sentences 10 Individuals for Supporting Ba'ath Party

The Kirkuk Criminal Court imposed a 5-year prison sentence on 10 individuals for expressing admiration for the Ba'ath Party.
As per an official statement released by Iraq's National Security Service, 10 individuals were apprehended in Kirkuk under the Ba'ath Prohibition Law No. 32 of 2016.
The statement said that the National Security Forces in Kirkuk apprehended an individual shown in a video rejoicing outside the Kirkuk governor's office and promoting the defunct Ba'ath government.
According to the statement, the Kirkuk Criminal Court has imposed a five-year prison sentence on ten individuals related to that case.
The statement indicated that the 10 individuals admitted to disseminating the defunct Ba'ath Party on social media platforms as members of a network associated with the disbanded Ba'ath Party.
A video has surfaced on social media platforms of individuals in Kirkuk engaging in public celebrations, prominently displaying the image of the deceased dictator Saddam Hussein, and vocally expressing their support for the defunct Ba'ath regime.
