PUK President: Kurdistan's Rights Must Be Separated from Disputes

PUK President's meeting with the new French Consul General.

The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) president, Bafel Jalal Talabani, met with Yann Braem, the recently appointed French consul in the region of Kurdistan.

The meeting, which was attended by Nizar Amedi, a member of the PUK's Political Bureau, discussed the most recent political developments and shifts in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq. Attendees emphasized the importance of coordination and cooperation among political forces and parties to maintain peace and stability and effectively address challenges.

President Bafel congratulated the recently appointed French Consul, reiterating the PUK's backing for his endeavors and fostering closer relations between the two entities. He also explained the PUK's stance on the events, saying: "We have historically followed the correct path to achieve the rights of the Kurdistan Region and keep people's livelihoods away from disputes. Dialogue, understanding, and compliance with the constitution are the keys to overcoming the problems and ending the conflicts, especially the issues between Erbil and Baghdad."
