Iraqi President inaugurates Iraq’s first ever pavilion at 2023’s global climate event

The United Nations has commended Iraq's participation in the climate conference held in Dubai.

"The President of Iraq, Dr. Abdul Latif Rashid, today inaugurated the first-ever Iraqi Pavilion at the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28 UAE), and conducted a high-level session alongside the Regional Director for UNDP in the Arab States region, Dr. Abdallah Dardari," UNAMI said in a Facebook post.  

"The training of the negotiation team, representing various Iraqi ministries, has finally come to fruition as they embark on their mission to negotiate on behalf of Iraq," UNAMI said. "UNDP wishes the dedicated team of negotiators, and Iraq, a successful COP28, one where they achieve significant outcomes for Iraq and their people back home."
