PUK President's Message on Occasion of 5th Congress's Success

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), released a message congratulating the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) members and supporters following the successful conclusion of the PUK's 5th Congress.

The message from President Bafel read:

Dear people of Kurdistan

Proud PUK supporters, proud relatives of the martyrs, valiant Peshmergas, warriors of the new revolution, veterans who have sustained disabilities as a result of their service, and political prisoners

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to you all for your unwavering dedication and commitment to ensuring the successful execution of the PUK's 5th Congress. This significant milestone marks a pivotal moment in reigniting our collective sense of unity and fulfilling our duty to the resilient people we serve.

Beginning today, we shall embark on a new phase of party and organizational work, driven by a sense of unity. We shall leverage the wisdom of our seasoned veterans, the dynamism of our talented youth who represent our nation's greatest asset and future, and the expertise and experience of our accomplished women. Through the adoption of modern approaches and the pursuit of consensus in our decision-making, our aim is to fortify the PUK and diligently work towards the betterment of our land and people.

Today, we have brought joy to the spirits of the martyrs and our guide, President Mam Jalal. We want to reassure all members of the PUK and our cherished people that the PUK has historically been at the forefront of the struggle and will continue to play a pivotal role in fostering societal progress and advancement in the times to come. Our existence is derived from the people and we shall remain steadfast in honoring this historical lineage.

I express my gratitude to the preceding Leadership Council for their unwavering commitment and relentless efforts in tackling various duties and overcoming problems. I extend my congratulations to the newly appointed leadership and anticipate their diligent efforts in safeguarding the ideological path of Mam Jalal and our PUK. All individuals who are not part of the leadership, but share a common cause, are my brothers and comrades and will persist in working collectively towards the attainment of our objectives. The PUK expresses its pride in its members and supporters, extending an inclusive invitation to individuals who are committed to advocating for the cause of Kurdistan inside our party's ranks.

I would also want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to all individuals who steadfastly dedicated themselves to the path of the martyrs at various junctures in the history of the PUK, demonstrating unwavering loyalty to the party. Their contribution to the preservation and growth of the PUK was substantial, and their role and influence will be forever ingrained in our memory.

I want everyone to be confident that the PUK will continue to pursue national interests with the same level of dedication and a policy that is both appropriate and modern. The PUK is fighting for the rights of the Kurdish people and we believe in coordination and working together with all political forces and parties to achieve these lofty objectives. Together, we want to provide services and create a brighter future in a stable region. Distancing and division serve no purpose, and imposing an authoritarian will will only exacerbate the situation's distortion. In light of this, I trust that everyone will act responsibly, fight for our shared destiny as Kurds, and create a proud history for ourselves and our party.

I also assure you that the PUK will steadfastly implement its strategic vision and approach in Baghdad. This policy includes fostering authentic partnerships, upholding peace, and promoting harmonious coexistence. President Mam Jalal is widely acknowledged as the progenitor of this strategy, and it is with great pride that we continue to adhere to its principles. The assistance rendered by our allies in Baghdad, who have played a pivotal role in the realization of Kurdish rights, shall remain appreciated in our collective memory. We express our profound gratitude for their unwavering dedication and invaluable contributions.

I express my gratitude to the Peshmerga forces, counter-terrorism, commandos, Asayish forces, operations, police, and traffic police for their diligent efforts in upholding the tranquility and security of the congress hall throughout the duration of the event.

We express our gratitude towards the diligent endeavors of all journalists and media establishments who have accompanied us during the recent days and effectively conveyed the congress's message.

I apologize to the people of Sulaymaniyah if we have become a burden to you in the past days. You are our people and we will not forget you.
