President Bafel: Our Priority is Achieving Kurdistan's Constitutional Entitlements

PUK President meets British Consul General

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), met with Rosy Cave, British Consul General in the Kurdistan Region.

The meeting was attended by Amin Baba Sheikh, Chief of the PUK's Relations Bureau, during which the political situation in the Kurdistan Region and increased coordination to address problems were discussed.

"Everyone should handle the situation correctly and responsibly because we all share a common destiny in the Kurdistan Region," President Bafel said, emphasizing the persistence of national efforts to address issues and improve citizens' quality of life. Individual interests should not be allowed to overshadow the Region's future and the lives of its people."

"With regard to the efforts to make the national process successful, as well as the reorganization of the Peshmerga, President Bafel added, "The PUK is handling the situation responsibly and desires that all forces be reorganized as soon as possible in the context of a just national project and to safeguard the highest interests."

The disagreements between Erbil and Baghdad and the Kurdistan Region's rights were also discussed. President Bafel stated, "Achieving the legal and constitutional rights of the Region and ensuring a decent life for our people is our top priority, and we will continue to work toward this end."
