Bafel Jalal Talabani, the President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), met with Qais Khazali, Secretary-General of the Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq, in Baghdad.
The meeting focused on coordination and collaboration between the political forces and parties to advance the highest national interests while also discussing the general situation in the country and efforts to carry out the government's program.
Another part of the meeting focused on the necessity of using the Constitution as a cornerstone in finding solutions to the problems at hand. To avoid harming the lives of citizens and salaried workers, both sides committed to finding a swift resolution to the issues between Erbil and Baghdad.
President Bafel stated that the PUK is fighting to protect the region's rights and privileges, and he added, "All of our efforts are focused on resolving this unfavorable situation, as continued conflict serves no one. The Kurdish people have made numerous sacrifices; they do not deserve to be used again as a tool to advance party goals, and we will not allow it."
