PUK President and EU’s Ambassador to Iraq

The President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), Bafel Jalal Talabani, welcomed the European Union's Ambassador to Iraq, Ville Varjola, who visited the Kurdistan Region to mark the end of his term.

During the meeting, President Bafel praised Varjola and the EU for their assistance in the political, economic, security, and humanitarian areas in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, noting that their contributions have been crucial in achieving stability and resolving issues. He also wished him luck in his upcoming assignments.

In addition to discussing the Constitution as the basis for resolving the issues, they also discussed the political situation in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, efforts to resolve the issues, and the implementation of the budget law. 

Regarding the PUK's efforts to successfully implement service programs and the reform process, President Bafelstated, "The provision of entitlements is one of our responsibilities, and our people's lives should not be tied to political disputes. In every way, we will continue to pursue the prosperity and stability we seek for our region."
