President Bafel Outlines PUK's Energy Sector Strategy

The President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), Bafel Jalal Talabani, and the Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani, Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, Oil Minister Hayyan Abdul Ghani, and the leaders of political factions in the Iraqi parliament met in Baghdad to discuss the draft oil and gas law.
At the meeting, the bill's political and economic significance and repercussions were evaluated, with Ahmad Mufti, the PUK president's advisor on energy affairs, and several other energy professionals in attendance.
To bring about political and economic stability and improve the nation's financial infrastructure, President Bafelhighlighted the importance of removing the challenges the oil and gas law now faces during the meeting.
During the meeting, President Bafel presented the PUK's perspective and strategy for addressing energy sector issues, stressing that the ratification of the law must be based on mutual respect and compromise. "Oil and natural gas should be utilized to provide a better future and a source of life for all citizens, and this national wealth should be used to strengthen and rebuild the nation," he said.
