President Bafel: There must be no room for infractions

PUK President met with a number of security officials in Sulaymaniyah

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), chaired a senior security meeting.

 The attendees included Jalal Sheikh Naji, Director of Zanyari Agency; Hiwa Ahmad, Head of the Kurdistan Region's Asayish Agency; Lieutenant Colonel Bakhtiar Mohammed, Secretary General of the Peshmerga Ministry; Wahab Halabjay, Director General of the Counter-Terrorism Group; Pollo Shallaw Ali Askari, Head of Peshmerga Intelligence; and Diyar Omar, Deputy Commander of Kurdistan Commando Forces. They stressed the necessity of combining efforts to safeguard the region’s stability and the lives of its residents while discussing the most recent security developments and military and intelligence collaboration between the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.

 In outlining the tasks of the security forces, President Bafel Jalal Talabani said: "Protecting lives and upholding the law must be your main duties and responsibilities at all times. There must be no room for infractions, and you must deal with them harshly. I do not doubt that, with everyone's help and support, we can fulfill our national obligation and continue to write a glorious chapter in the history of our armed forces."
