PUK President: Long-term Economic Stability Requires New National Policy

Bafel Jalal Talabani, the President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), met with Congressman Seth Molton, a member of the House Armed Services Committee responsible for providing aid and instruction to the Peshmerga forces in Washington, DC.

Darbaz Kosrat Rasul, Head of the Relations Bureau, attended the meeting where they highlighted the need to enhance security and military coordination in order to safeguard the highest interests and ensure stability in the surrounding area.

President Bafel highlighted the threat of terrorism and the current security situation in the area. He emphasised that terrorism persists and the remaining elements of ISIS pose a significant danger to the area.

On the other hand, President Bafel stressed the importance of implementing a new and comprehensive national policy for natural gas in the Kurdistan Region to enhance the economic infrastructure and ensure long-term economic stability in the area. He stated that in order to accomplish these objectives, it is imperative to have the collaboration and coordination of all parties involved.

The discussion also addressed the situation in the Middle East and regional tensions. Both parties emphasised the importance of resolving problems and reverting to dialogue as the only basis for resolving the issues. 

 

PUK President: Our Goal is to Utilise National Wealth for Public Good

Bafel Jalal Talabani, the President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), held a meeting with Congressman Pat Ryan, who is a member of the House of Representatives Armed Services Committee responsible for allocating funds for Peshmerga training and equipment. 

During the meeting, attended by Darbaz Kosrat Rasul, Head of the Relations Bureau, the matters concerning the Peshmerga forces and energy were discussed. They emphasised the importance of peaceful measures to resolve the difficulties in the region.

President Bafel discussed the position of the PUK regarding the unification of the Peshmerga forces and the energy sector, saying that the help provided by the US and the international coalition is an important factor in the unification of the Peshmerga forces. 

He stated: "Our objective is to manage the energy sector in an appropriate and patriotic manner, and we will make every effort to achieve that. We desire for this national wealth to be used for a future characterised by stability and prosperity, ultimately benefiting our citizens as a source of prosperity."

Bafel Jalal Talabani, the President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), held a meeting in Washington, DC with Congressman Adam Smith, who is a member of the House of Representatives' Armed Services Committee and is responsible for providing weapons to the Peshmerga forces.

During the discussion, Darbaz Kosrat Rasul, the Head of the Relations Bureau, was present. President Bafel Jalal Talabani emphasised the need to unify the Peshmerga forces and stated that their endeavours are focused on establishing a powerful national force.

President Bafel praised the ongoing endeavours of the US forces and the international coalition in bolstering the Peshmerga forces. He urged for the continuation of collaboration and coordination to combat terrorism and uphold peace and stability in the region.

Bafel Jalal Talabani, the President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), held a meeting with Congressman Andy Kim, who is a member of the US House of Representatives Armed Services and Foreign Affairs Committees.

The two parties engaged in a discussion regarding the elections in the Kurdistan Region, the unification of the Peshmerga forces, the fight against terrorism, and the collaboration with the international coalition, particularly with the US. 

President Bafel Jalal Talabani addressed the instability in the Middle East and emphasised that the international community should not overlook the situation in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq. We hope that they will continue their collaboration and coordination to eliminate impediments to the elections, address concerns, and ensure the success of the democratic process in the country.

President Bafel provided a comprehensive explanation of the military coordination and reorganisation of the Peshmerga forces. He emphasised the need to address the activities of remaining ISIS members and their threats to regional security with awareness, and stressed the importance of ongoing coordination.

He expressed gratitude for the significant support of the US in bolstering the Peshmerga forces and their endeavours to consolidate them into a formidable national force.
