The PUK Political Bureau congratulates the PUK faction on its recommendations incorporated in the Iraqi budget law for 2023.
The Iraqi Parliament voted on Article 14 of the 2023 budget bill, including the PUK's proposal to bind the Kurdistan Regional Government to a fair distribution of the Kurdistan Region's share among the governorates to protect people's and employees' rights.
The message from the Political Bureau for the occasion stated:
Ladies and gentlemen in the PUK faction, the true representatives of the Kurdish people:
We express our sincerest congratulations on the acceptance of the PUK proposals in the Iraqi budget law for 2023, as well as the vote on giving priority to salaries and the livelihood of the governorates of the Kurdistan Region. Your brave coordination and insistence in the Council of Representatives deliberations have given the people of Sulaymaniyah, Halabja, Garmian, and Raparin hope. It is also in the best interests of the entire region of Kurdistan that Sulaymaniyah and other Kurdish cities are no longer under the threat of injustice and that people's lives are not used anymore as weapons in unjust conflict.
