President Bafel: All our efforts are to serve the citizens better

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), received Japanese Ambassador to Iraq Futoshi Matsumoto in Sulaymaniyah.
 
The discussion focused on understanding and ongoing communication between the parties to address concerns and overcome the challenges, as it covered the most recent political and social developments in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.

President Bafel explained the PUK's stance on unifying national efforts to resolve the issues of the Kurdistan Region and the elections, saying that a favorable environment has been created to reach a national compromise and agreement and "all our efforts are to achieve a positive result and serve the citizens better."
 
He continued:  “The negotiations on the holding of elections in the Region continue, and we hope that the points of disagreement will be agreed upon as soon as possible and a fair election will be held on schedule.”
 
Additionally, the Region's economic infrastructure and the growth of economic and political links between the two parties were addressed in the meeting.
