President Bafel's press conference
Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), announces that a center for communicating messages and administrative and party requests will open in Sulaymaniyah.
"Through this center, I will listen to citizens' thoughts and demands without discrimination, follow up on their issues, and work to address them," he said.
In a press conference regarding the opening of a call center for direct communication with citizens, President Bafel Jalal Talabani stated: "The inspiration for the center came from the fact that I initially answered every call until someone published my phone number, which made it difficult for the public's requests to reach me. As a result, we considered opening a call center so that the public's messages and requests could reach us more effectively."
"Any citizen with administrative or party requests or difficulties can contact the call center and transmit his or her message so that we can follow up and work on it, and the center accepts communications from all citizens regardless of ethnicity, viewpoint, or ideas," he stated.
President Bafel responded to a reporter's question on the election process by saying, "The process has certain issues, but the elections will go on, and the issues must be resolved."
President Bafel responded to a different question from reporters regarding the recent Council of Ministers meeting on the financial reorganization of the Kurdistan Region by saying: "The ninth cabinet made a brave move and managed to advance in a different direction that includes service without discrimination and priority for salaries, which is remarkable, and we support it, and other parties agree with us."
Regarding Massoud Barzani's initiative to start a new chapter between the parties, the PUK President said: "We are pleased with this initiative and anticipated it, and I appreciate him asking me about my health multiple times."
President Bafel commented on the Kurdistan Region's status: "It is our responsibility to make things better, so I believe that the closer the parties work together, the greater the efforts they can take to benefit the region's citizens."
"We had high hopes for the meeting between Masrour Barzani and Qubad Talabani, and while we may still disagree on some things, today I have higher hopes than yesterday that we can move forward together,' he added.
